In 1988, General Mitchell International Airport began what is today the LONGEST RUNNING SEMINAR FOR FEARFUL FLYERS IN THE WORLD that is operated by a local airport authority. This enormously popular and successful seminar has served hundreds of fearful flyers from Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. During the 14 year tenure of this program, United Airlines, Midwest Express, American Airlines and TWA have all provided aircraft at reduced cost for either "graduation flights" or static (ground only) displays during this period of time. It is impressive to note that none of these companies has ever asked anything in return for their helpfulness. The course, Flying in the Comfort Zone is taught each February and October. It is conducted at the General Mitchell International Airport Terminal on each of four Saturdays from 9:00 AM until noon. The first three classes cover all of the therapeutic learning material you will find in this web site. The final class is a class which, since 1994 has been on United Airlines to Chicago O'Hare Airport and back to Milwaukee. The success of the class is reflected by the follow-up research conducted between 1992 and 1993. Ninety one percent of 70 former students improvement in their fear of flying. These results were highlighted by the fact that STUDENTS FLEW THREE TIMES MORE TWO YEARS AFTER CLASS COMPLETION THAN TWO YEARS BEFORE TAKING THE CLASS. Clinical evidence since 1992 indicated that these results are equal to or better than the 1992 study.
